Tips for Tracing
Keep the following in mind when tracing images.
- Bitmaps with few colors generally trace best. Use Picture Publisher to reduce the number of colors in a bitmap image before you trace.
- Grayscale images trace better than color images. Monochrome images, however, trace best of all.
- Don't trace bitmap text. Add text to a drawing with Designer's Text Tool
. Scanned text and text added with an image editor are of lower quality.
- Simple, uncomplicated images trace better than complicated ones.
- Dark objects on light backgrounds are best. If you have a dark background, use Picture Publisher to lighten it before tracing.
- After tracing, you can reduce the number of points in the object. See "Reducing Points" for more information.
